I am Chenice Pope, and I undertake and deliver every independent review myself.
The basis of the service.
The specialisation is the reading, not a claim to be the subject expert in everything submitted.
My attention is drawn to the difference between what a creator understands and what the material itself gives another person enough information to understand.
I often notice an explanation that seems incomplete, an assumption that has not been stated, a connection the reader is expected to make without enough guidance, a conclusion that is more certain than its support, or an important point that has been buried beneath less important material.
The review examines what the work communicates, supports, assumes, and asks its reader to accept. It does not depend on me pretending to have specialist knowledge in every field. Where a technical, regulated, or specialist judgment is needed, I will say so.
What independent means here.
I was not involved in developing the material and do not need to defend the choices already made.
The purpose is neither automatic agreement nor criticism for its own sake. A clear argument, a useful sentence, or a well supported choice can be a legitimate positive finding.
Where a concern arises, I explain the observation and why it may matter. You can then decide whether it changes anything about your work.
I do not outsource the substantive review and I do not submit client material to AI tools for analysis, rewriting, feedback, transcription, or automated meeting summaries.

Cern Aliud is a coined expression that combines the idea of discerning or distinguishing with the idea of something else or another thing.
For this service, it expresses the intention to discern what else may be present in the work. That may be an overlooked question, an unstated assumption, a different interpretation, a useful sentence worth protecting, or something that deserves further thought.

I provide the agreed observations, questions, priorities, and discussion. I do not promise a particular conclusion, approval, grade, funding decision, publication result, or commercial outcome.
